Description

EDIT - i changed the spec map, posed him more and upped the resolution on all maps, normal, bump, spec, alpha, ao

It's finally done! I'm quite happy with the turn out!

thanks to :iconsatsumo: and a bunch of other critiques from my classmates and teachers, my Griffon man is finally finished!

I'm quite happy with the turn out, and bless Xnormal! It still didn't transfer 100% of my detail from my Zbrush to Maya but I realize it won't ever look 100% until I practice more.

I plan on putting up a grey scale, wire frame and all the texture maps I used for him.

Griffon man = 6000 tris Diffuse, colour, AO , specular and normal map
Griffon pedistal = 3000-4000 tris, colour, spec and normal mapped

He is also bound and rigged so no I did not model him in this pose, I modeled him in A pose and posed him after :)

My first ever finished creature/character that I've tweaked... and tweaked.... and tweaked...

comments are welcome!

Hey this is pretty good! I wish I had a premium membership so I could give an "official" critique.

The anatomy looks pretty solid. Looks like it was a pretty good sculpt (although, its hard to judge a sculpt after its already been baked down into a texture.) I could give a little better feedback if there was a wireframe and a zBrush render, so I could see your process.

I think this could really be helped by better presentation. Some nice lighting, shadows. It appears to be a good model, but the render and presentation make it look a little flat. I'm a firm believer that your work should speak for itself and stand on its own legs. But you also need to present your work in the best possible light (figuratively speaking...well, literally speaking as well in this case).

This is is a year old. Do you have more recent work?
