Description

A Sword art online 2 piece of Sinon, one of the main characters for the new series.

Definitely can see a lot of areas I could've improved on but overall I do like it. Trying to get back into finishing pieces but also doing backgrounds along with my work. It's something I lack and need to focus more on

This sort of painty technique you have going on with this image is strong. Strong like the force~. The contrast between the obvious, rough strokes on the clothing and the softer, less contrasting strokes on the skin and hair is working really well. I think it's a style worth developing in the long term. It's cool and interesting~.

I think the purple you've used for the sky is too saturated. The strong olive-y colour of her outfit and the white pops out against it, but the soft blue of her hair, the black and the colour of her flesh is getting lost. My eyes are drawn to the green, then straight to the purple sky. I think filling in the black clouds at the top and desaturating the purple to a more greyish colour would help keep Sinon the main focus of the image.

Also on the topic of colours, there's no lighting. 'Cause the background is so dark, the colours on Sinon would balance into... erm... Colder tones (does that make sense)? It's like she's standing in front of a picture of mountains and sky, rather than standing in the environment. It's easily fixed though, just add some blue or indigo hues with the colour balance tool or blending modes. This will also help her stand out more against that strong sky.

That's about it. The anatomy is totes fine. Her larger head and hips works well with this sort of style, IMO. Good work on her pose with the gun, too; Guns are a total bitch to draw, haha.
